Miramichi – New Brunswick Community College received a software donation valued at $150,000 from NGRAIN, a major Canadian interactive 3D software simulation company.
The company donated 30 licenses of its award-winning NGRAIN Producer®, a 3D simulation production softwarewhich provides users with no programming experience the ability to create interactive 3D simulations, including procedural animations and real-time practice tasks. The software is being used by NBCC students in Miramichi’s Electronic Game Design (game programming) and Electronic Game 3D (3D modelling) programs.
“Industry partnerships like this one will ensure our college is training students who are equipped with the skills they need to enter the workforce and be successful,” said Marilyn Luscombe, President and CEO of NBCC. “This partnership is a great example of how NBCC wants to work with industry and community partners to foster economic growth and prosperity, and to graduate the quality workforce our province needs to succeed.”
“One of our goals at NGRAIN is to make 3D simulations accessible,” said Paul Lindahl, CEO, NGRAIN. “By partnering with NBCC we hope students will broaden their horizons and explore the exciting career opportunities available to them in simulation-based training development.”
NBCC is a college network that serves students from across the province with six New Brunswick campuses, and offers over 100 programs.
